good to hear Big Bill Broonzy Trucking Little Woman from 1938 - one of his very best and shows the lie to his later "straight from the fields" persona pushed by the record companies when rediscovered by the white crowd during the 1950s - they just wanted to hear folk blues as played by the field hands, so he gave them that. Probably this was guided by him appearing at the 1938 from spirituals to swing concert as a stand in for Robert Johnson (who John Hammond had tried to locate before finding out that he had already died.) However Muddy Waters knew how good Bill's early stuff was - he did a whole album of his songs, Muddy Waters Sings "Big Bill" - recommend anyone to check that out. But also check Bill's originals including others such as All By Myself (1941). Beware though, Bill did re-record some of these later in a more diluted form.
